Householders can save hundreds of pounds on their energy bills ahead of huge upcoming price hikes. Many energy suppliers are set to increase their rates this year after Ofgem confirmed its price cap will be going up from October.
Ofgem, the office of Gas and Electricity Markets, has said that UK household energy bills will be affected in 2021 due to soaring prices of fossil fuels globally.
The price cap is the maximum amount energy suppliers are allowed to charge customers. The increase will mean the typical customer is likely to see their energy bill for gas and electricity go up by £139 - from £1,138 to £1,277 from October 1.
