It really does matter what time of day you exercise if you want to shed the pounds - with women advised to work-out in the morning if they're serious about reducing body fat.
A new US study has also discovered that men looking to lose weight should instead work up a sweat in the evenings. Different biological clocks, sleep-wake cycles and hormones are all thought to play a role in this disparity between the sexes, according to the new study which was published by Frontiers in Physiology.The research put 30 men and 26 women, aged from 25 to 55, through a three-month fitness regime before monitoring the results.
One group spent an hour working out before 8.30am, while the other exercised from 6 to 8pm, with all following the same diet plan.
Everyone’s blood pressure, body fat and strength were then tested, with researchers noting real differences in the best exercise times for men and women.
