Two horses have died at Aintree ahead of today's Grand National. A total of 40 horses competed for the top prize in what was the 175th running of the world-famous steeplechase race.
The race was won by Corach Rambler, who was ridden by Derek Fox. It's not yet clear whether any horses died during the National, the penultimate race of the three-day racing festival which began on Thursday.

Full results and places The Grand National was delayed for 15 minutes after animal rights activists attempted to gain entry to the track this afternoon.
