The latest figures, published by Public Health England on Tuesday, show that for the seven days to January 22, a large majority of areas have seen a fall in infections.Of the 315 local areas in England, 26 - eight per cent - have seen a rise in case rates, while 289 - 92 per cent - have seen a fall and one is unchanged.Knowsley in Merseyside continues to have the highest rate in England, with 1,330 new cases recorded in the time period, which is the equivalent of 881.6 cases per 100,000 people.This is down from 1,134.1 cases per 100,000 people in the seven days to January 15.Sandwell in the West.
