How dishwashing liquid can protect against the coronavirus

Now doctors have revealed that you can use washing up liquid instead, if necessary because it will form a protection against germs, if nothing else is available.

Dr Adrian Heald, a UK doctor, believed that people who were panicking over a lack of hand sanitiser in supermarkets, could use dish washing liquid if they needed to.

He wrote on Twitter: “People, please do NOT panic if liquid soaps are sold out, a bar will also do the job (rinse after use and pat dry) or use dish washing liquid, the coronavirus has a fatty outer layer, anything that dissolves fat will work!” Dr Sarah Jarvis, a GP and clinical director, added that using washing-up liquid could cause your hands to be very dry, so she warned to make sure you moiturised well
