It would endeavour to sell all remaining stock and eventually close 124 stores.This latest blow to the British retail sector represents one of the most dramatic implosions in a year not short on economic devastation.
Still, Debenhams entered 2020 in perhaps worse shape than some of its straitened peers. In April, the retailer filed for its second administration in 12 months.
