His neck was so swollen, he couldn't move his head, and his throat was so sore that he was unable to eat or drink. After a rash appeared all over his body and his temperature continued to rise, his family rushed him to the nearby hospital to find out what was happening.

Thomas, from Urmston, was later diagnosed with Kawasaki disease - a rare condition which usually affects children under the age of five.
