Paddy Considine plays one of the lead characters in the new HBO series House of the Dragon and he’s opening up about how he could’ve been involved with Game of Thrones!

The 48-year-old actor, who previously appeared in the HBO series The Outsider, turned down a role in the smash hit show and made sure to not make the same mistake for the upcoming prequel series. Click inside to find out what he said… Paddy told his agent that he didn’t even want to read the script for Game of Thrones after it was sent to him. “He said, ‘It’s about dragons.’ I went, ‘No thanks.’ I didn’t even read it,” Paddy told The Sunday Times. Paddy will be playing King Viserys Targaryen in House of the Dragon, a role he say was inspired by his mother and her battle with diabetes. “If anything Viserys was based on my mother.

She was the most powerful woman I knew, for a long time. Until she neglected herself,” he said. “By the end of her life my mum had diabetes.

I adored my mum. But her illness became her comfort zone. It was tragic to see that decline and I put that — plus her kindness and her love — into Viserys.” Check out photos of the cast at the world premiere!
