Fears are mounting that the UK’s hotel quarantine policy will only launch on February 15 after the government refused to name a date.
It’s now six days since Boris Johnson announced Brits returning from 30 ‘red list’ countries will be forced to quarantine in guarded hotels for 10 days.
The list has since been extended to 33 countries, where travel for non-Brits is already banned due to new variants of coronavirus.
Yet there’s still no date for the policy to start. That is despite health officials finding 11 cases of the South Africa variant - in eight areas of England - which had no obvious travel link to the country.
