On April 15, 2021, Gary Moran, 64, from Stockport, married his long-term partner Myra. It was one of the happiest days of their lives, but it was also filled with immense sadness.

For Gary, marrying Myra had been one of his ‘last wishes’ as he was diagnosed with abdominal cancer. Staff at Ward C4, where Gary had been staying, had done all they could to make sure the special occasion went without a hitch.
