Horse riders to take to the roads around Newmains for annual safety event

Dozens of riders from across North Lanarkshire will take their horses onto the roads around Newmains for the annual Pass Wide and Slow rideout.It’s the fourth year in a row that the event will take place in North Lanarkshire, which ties in with hundreds of others taking place simultaneously across the UK raising safety awareness for drivers.Around 35 equestrian riders have already signed up for the ride covering Newmains and Morningside, that will take place on Sunday, September 15 trotting off at 11am.Pass Wide and Slow organiser Julie Cameron said: “We have approximately 30 horses and 35 riders, some are horse sharing, all signed up to join us and once again we will kindly be escorted by the police.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
