A punter is £150,000 richer thanks to a £5 bet on a lucky number. The Ladbrokes customer put the tiny amount on five horses racing at Chepstow and Tramore on Saturday evening.

All of the selections in the 50p each-way five-fold were number 10 in the racecard – and they competed in the space of just an hour and a quarter.

First to strike was Mandarian Monarch (14/1) in the 6.45pm race at Tramore, followed by the 7.00pm tip Morrooj (6/1) and Sir Canford (12/1) in Chepstow's 7.30pm.

The punter could not believe their eyes as the winning streak continued, when outsider Red Vermillion (7.45pm) got the better of Willie Mullins' hot favourite Cool Colonnade by half-a-length at the Irish track.
