A foul-mouthed pensioner was hauled to court for 'disability hate crimes' after calling his neighbour a 'poor old cripple'. Anthony Doughty was returning home drunk from the pub when he made the remark outside his neighbour's terraced property, a court heard.
She had recently installed a disabled parking bay outside her home in Tranmere, on the Wirral. The victim, whose disability was not disclosed, went to police after hearing Doughty saying 'poor old cripple, god bless her', claiming this was part of hate campaign waged by him.
She also recorded the 67-year-old calling her a host of other insulting names including a 'horrible f***ing woman', a 'horrible old bag' and a 'dirty fat c***'. I was really offended by the term 'cripple' and also referring to me as a 'horrible old bag' and a 'dirty fat c***'. "It was clearly aimed at me and is causing me great distress.
