Home Bargains want to build town's third store at B&Q site...but owners want the DIY shop to stay put

Plans to demolish B&Q and replace it with Leigh’s third Home Bargains has been opposed by the DIY store. TJ Morris Ltd, the parent company of Home Bargains, has submitted plans to demolish the current B&Q on Kirkhall Lane and replace it with a Home Bargains.

The DIY chain has opposed the plans to demolish their only site in Leigh and are undergoing legal proceedings at the moment.

We now need to let the legal process run its course.” In their planning statement, Home Bargains have said that they wish to strengthen their existing presence in the borough - specifically in Leigh. “There is an existing HB store located at Bradshawgate in Leigh town centre,” the statement said. “This will be retained alongside the new store proposed at the site.
