Last year, developers were forced to confirm they were “still hard at work on the game” after fans began to speculate that Hollow Knight: Silksong had been cancelled due to a lack of updates from Team Cherry.

It was a similar story in January when developer Matthew Griffin reassured fans that “the game is real, progressing and will release.”Yesterday (March 19), Xbox shared a blog post about its work with a number of independent studios. “Since ID@Xbox was launched in 2013, more than $5 billion have been paid to independent developers from all over the world,” they wrote before teasing future titles. “Looking ahead, our lineup is incredible with upcoming games like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Descenders Next, and FBC: Firebreak to play across the whole Xbox universe… and of course Hollow Knight: Silksong too!” The casual mention of the highly-anticipated game has annoyed a number of fans though.
