Hiker discovered lifeless on mountain wakes up from coma after five days and asks for Coca Cola

A hiker who was discovered lifeless on a mountainside with a core temperature of just 18 degrees woke up after five days in a coma and one of the first things he asked for was a coke.

Tommy Price, 26, was near the end of leg one of a Bob Graham Round training run when he had what was described by his companion as a "delirious episode" and was unable to continue down the valley.

Tommy's companion Mike, who was with him on Hall's Fell, Blencathra, wrapped him up in an emergency survival bag and made his way down the mountain to call for help, but when it arrived, they found the survival bag empty but folded up with stones on top and no casualty in sight. Keswick Mountain Rescue Team responded to the call, along with the Coast Guard Helicopter and Penrith Mountain Rescue Team. They detailed the tale on their social media.They said: "The team were called to a 26-year-old fell runner who, near the end of leg one of a Bob Graham Round training run, was unable to continue the relatively short remaining descent down Hall’s Fell to Threlkeld village.
