deadline.comEXCLUSIVE: Highland Film Group has taken international sales for Standing on the Shoulders of Fate, a behind-the-scenes documentary by Adam Davis on the making of Jonathan Baker’s feature Fate, which was set to star Donald Sutherland.
The iconic actor died last summer before production started. A highlight of the film is its portrayal of Baker’s year-long collaboration with the legendary Sutherland on what was intended to be his final film role.
Harvey Keitel ended up playing Sutherland’s role. Fate also stars Faye Dunaway, Andrew McCarthy, Brandon Routh and Mena Suvari.
The documentary is meant to provide a look at the intense creative process behind the film, which Baker crafted for under $15 million.
