Hibs loanee Dylan Tait hungry for success at Hamilton Accies, says boss John Rankin

John Rankin says Hibs loanee Dylan Tait is hungry to be a success at Hamilton Accies after the club fought off competition to land his signature.The Accies boss made Tait his ninth new signing of the summer before also bringing in Connor Murray from Queen of the South on Tuesday, to take the new recruits at New Douglas Park to 10.At 21-years-old, Tait has yet to play for the Hibs first team after being signed from Raith Rovers in August 2021, and then loaned straight back to the Kirkcaldy club last season.He has experience of winning the League One title with Raith and was also on loan at Kilmarnock when they won the Championship crown in 2022.Rankin says that attribute is exactly what he wants in his squad and insists the midfielder has a fire in his belly to be successful at Accies, after turning down other clubs in favour of his side.“I’m over the moon to get Dylan in,” said ex-Hibs player Rankin. “He’s one we highlighted last season to try and get in.“Hibs were really easy to deal with and Eddie May [the Hibs loan manager] was really complimentary on the phone about him, he knows what he wants Dylan to do and it was a no-brainer for us to get someone with that quality in.“He’s a player who has been in the Championship and signed for one of Scotland’s biggest clubs [Hibs], where it has not quite worked out.“But he has won the Championship with Kilmarnock, and League One at the start of Covid with Raith, so to get someone with that experience and a bit of fire in his belly is fantastic.“We had competition for him but I think it was important that we expressed an interest in Dylan early on.“When I met Dylan, I got a vibe that he was hungry and quite keen to come here when he saw what we are trying to do.“He was here on
