Heroin and cocaine found during police raids in Ayr's Wallacetown

Heroin and cocaine were seized during raids by police chiefs during a "week of action" trageting drugs in South Ayrshire.Cops were supported by specialist teams including a dog unit, method of entry team and public order officers as they carried out their operation in Ayr's Wallacetown.It followed the arrest of two men, aged 42 and 33, and a 53-year-old woman, for alleged drugs offences in South Ayrshire last month.The small amount of Class A drugs were seized between Monday, September 26 and Friday, September 30 as officers carried out street searches.

Enquiries into the recoveries are ongoing.Two men, aged 23 and 24, are the subject of a report to the procurator fiscal after a small quantity of drugs, believed to be cannabis, and a four-figure sum of money was recovered from a house in Princess Court, Ayr.A third man, aged 49, was arrested from the same address on an outstanding warrant and alleged drug offences.South Ayrshire Chief Inspector Kevin Lammie said: “In line with our local priorities, we are committed to targeting the illegal supply of drugs within our South Ayrshire communities.“With help from our local community and acting on their concerns and gathering intelligence, we carried out this week of action.
