A hero police officer who was murdered by two escaped prisoners has been refused a posthumous bravery medal on the 45th anniversary of his death.
George Taylor was slain by killers Robert Mone and Thomas McCulloch at the psychiatric hospital Carstairs in Lanarkshire.
