A young police officer has been praised after helping a mum deliver her baby in a car at the side of the road. PC Lauren McMinn, 28, was driving in her patrol car on Cathcart Road in the city's south side with a colleague when they were flagged down by Graham McInnes.
A very distressed Graham, 31, explained that his partner Lisa MacDonald had gone into labour. With an ambulance on the way but no time to get Lisa, 32, to hospital, PC McMinn began helping the mum to deliver little Arlo McInnes, who arrived safely into the world as the ambulance arrived.
Mum and baby were then taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.Since then, the officer has been reunited with Lisa, Arlo and Graham, along with their 11-year-old daughter Khloe, to celebrate a unique and unbreakable bond.
PC McMinn said it was "the most surreal moment of my life".She added: "I never would have imagined that during a routine shift, I would end up delivering a baby.
