A recent report is explaining why the movie Tenet was only able to garner two Oscar nominations this year and it all boils down to director Christopher Nolan.

The big-budget movie was the first blockbuster film to be released in theaters during the COVID-19 pandemic and it unfortunately didn’t get audiences back into the seats. Nolan insisted that the film be released in theaters instead of getting a VOD release like many of the other movies throughout the past year.

He also criticized his home studio Warner Bros. when they later decided to put the entire 2021 slate on HBO Max the same day the films hit theaters.
