Voters are being issued with an important reminder ahead of elections taking place across Greater Manchester on Thursday, May 2 this year.
Ballots will be held to elect the mayor of Greater Manchester as well as local elections, and the city mayor election in Salford.
To begin with, members of the public must be on the the electoral register if they wish to vote. If they are not already registered, the deadline to apply is Tuesday, April 16.
Individuals can apply to be registered and choose how they want to vote online, via the GOV.UK website. Since last year, it has been a national requirement that electors show their voter ID at a polling station.
