Beck has kicked off his 2024 orchestral tour, and used the show to perform countless fan favourites, as well as new covers – check out footage of the gig and the full setlist below.The opening night of the tour took place at the Chateau Ste.
Michelle Winery Amphitheatre in Woodinville, Washington last Wednesday (July 3), before continuing over the weekend with a slot at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on Saturday (July 6).To open the show, Beck launched the set with ‘Cycle’, the opening track from ‘Morning Phase’, before progressing into ‘The Golden Age’ – taken from his 2002 album ‘Sea Change’.
From there, other classics from his discography included ‘Lonesome Tears’, ‘Wave’, ‘Tropicalia’ and ‘Blue Moon’.The orchestral gig also saw him break out four covers during his 21-song setlist, which he performed alongside an 80-piece symphony orchestra conducted by Scott Dunn.
The first was a cover of The Korgis’ hit ‘Everybody’s Got To Learn Sometime’, which was later followed by a rendition of Colourbox’s ‘Tarantula’,Two Scott Walker covers were also embedded into the Washington show, ‘It’s Raining Today’ and ‘Montague Terrace (In Blue)’.Other tracks performed from the singer-songwriter’s back catalogue included ‘The New Pollution’, ‘Phase’, ‘Pater Tiger’, ‘Waking Light’, ‘Round the Bend’ and ‘Where It’s At’.
