When Conor meets Raphina (Lucy Boynton), he forms a band so she can star in their videos, reinventing himself as the confident, cool frontman Cosmo.Sing Street is directed by John Carney, known for his other music-themed films Once, Begin Again and Flora and Son.The film went on to be nominated for the Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy award at the 2017 Golden Globes.Conor’s band in the film is called Sing Street.
