NME’s latest star of The Cover, Heartworms, has compiled an exclusive playlist to accompany the story’s launch – check it out below.The South London artist is on this year’s first edition (January 6) of The Cover, a weekly manifestation of NME’s commitment to supporting emerging talent across the globe.
Every week, a rising artist will feature on The Cover – you can read the profile of Heartworms here, written by Alex Rigotti and featuring photography by Jamie Waters.To accompany The Cover, Heartworms has made an exclusive playlist for NME of songs that give her ‘Sanctuary’.
The collection includes tracks by the likes of John Cale, Patti Smith, Massive Attack, PJ Harvey and more. Explaining her long-running fascination with military history and imagery, she says: “It’s easy to make [war] a reality when you’re around these things because you’re not hiding from it.
