The fan highlighted the issue of the young cast aging beyond their character's years, noting that "Realistically they casted young adults at the start so that the actors could accurately portray the characters in the graphic novel," but added, "However, the actors are growing up as filming continues, and if they were to stretch it to a fifth season our main actors Joe Locke and Kit Connor (who already have matured a lot since the start of the series) would then be in their mid-20s." They also mentioned the evolving careers of the actors: "Also, because Joe and Kit are getting older, they're pursuing new phases in their career maybe leaving Heartstopper in their teenage years.
