The heartbroken mother of a girl who died from an asthma attack has asked mourners to wear bright colours at her funeral. Tracy Bulpitt said she had lost her “precious angel” in 12-year-old Katy.

And she has now requested mourners wear pink or purple in tribute to her at St Joseph’s Church in her hometown of Cumbernauld.

The mother of six also revealed that her father, Robert Speirs, had died on Tuesday aged 71. The funeral Mass will take place at 10am on Wednesday in St Joseph’s followed by burial at ­Eastfield Cemetery.There will be a gathering at the Burroughs social club and Tracy advised: “Anyone wishing to attend is welcome and we request attendees wear something pink or purple.” A GoFundMe page was launched to raise funds to cover
