Darren Maironis, 48, lost his life while cycling near Knutsford in Cheshire on Sunday (July 18). Police were called to a collision involving a van and a cyclist on Chelford Road just before 4pm.
Mr Maironis, from Tyldesley, had been taking part in a time trial cycling event at the time. Despite the best efforts of medical staff, he sadly died from his injuries.
