When Prince Harry and Meghan Markle sensationally quit as working royals in 2020 and moved to the US, there seemed to be no way back for them.They then took part in the bombshell 2021 Oprah Winfrey interview, a controversial Netflix series and Harry penned his memoir Spare which were all highly critical of the likes of King Charles and the Prince and Princess of Wales, so a royal return really seemed impossible.
However, the Firm is currently missing several key members who are unable to carry out duties - not least King Charles himself, who has cancelled all foreseeable public engagements as he continues to receive cancer treatment.
Recent reports have suggested Harry is willing to step into a temporary royal role while his father undergoes treatment and has told friends he would slide into such an opportunity, writes The Mirror.
Harry also suggested the King's illness could lead to a reconciliation in an interview with a US breakfast show. However, in a TV interview with the same show - Good Morning America - last year Harry gave a very different response when asked about any return to royal life.
