A dog which has been missing from Tameside for months has been found malnourished and wrapped in a duvet near a Yorkshire reservoir.
Eight-year-old retriever Brodie was found dead on a footpath near to Agden Reservoir, in Sheffield. A volunteer group called K9-SAR identified Brodie from his microchip before learning he had been missing from Droylsden since the beginning of the year.
Both South Yorkshire Police and the RSPCA are now investigating how Brodie came to be abandoned more than 30 miles from home.
K9-SAR says Brodie 'needs and deserves justice'. A police spokesperson told YorkshireLive: "The report was passed on to the RSPCA who are working to ascertain the circumstances of how the body of the dog came to be found in this location."
