This is the heart-stopping moment when a reckless youth crashed his quad bike without any safety gear on near a Scots beach.

The daredevil youngsters were fooling around in Girvan, South Ayrshire, when the horror accident happened on Sunday. In the clip a young man wearing sunglasses can be seen driving a quad bike up a path while others watch on.The vehicle can be heard revving and seen to be swaying left to right, while the man filming says: "Yas give it some welly Davey boy."The man reaches the top of a hill in an attempt to jump it when the other man shouts: "Your shoes are undone."As the driver continues over the jump, the quad bike comes crashing down before smashing into a raised embankment on the path. The impact of the crash sends the man flying off the vehicle while the quad bike goes tumbling down the hill behind him.His shocked friends shout "oh" before the man videoing declares: "For f**k's sake, he's like Flat Stanley man."The driver cannot be seen as the quad bike tumbled over him - but remarkably it went over the man, who was only left with a pair of ripped shorts as well as some cuts and bruises.John Simmons, whose friend's son was involved in the incident, posted the footage on social media in a bid to warn others about the importance of wearing safety gear.John said: "My friend sent me this, his sons and pals on quads down Girvan - no helmets on.

He was lucky and only ripped his shorts clean off."Speaking to the Record, John added: "It happened last Sunday down Girvan near the beach."I have done extreme sports in the past but have always took precautions."The young ones today don’t care for helmets.
