A vile and obsessive bully kicked his girlfriend's dog to death after he angrily accused her of putting her pet first. Aidan Swift, 42, became "livid" and "irate" before kicking the two-year-old dog, called Kiki, so viciously that she "died on the spot", Hull Crown Court heard.
Hull Live reports that Swift hit he threatened to kill her during a frightening long-running campaign of controlling behaviour.
Swift, of Holmpton Road, Hollym, Holderness, but recently in custody on remand, admitted using controlling and coercive behaviour between January 2020 and September last year, assaulting the woman, causing actual bodily harm, and making threats to kill her on May 13 last year.
He also admitted causing unnecessary suffering to a dog on April 7 last year. Matthew Moore-Taylor, prosecuting, said that the woman had been in a relationship with Swift and they moved in together in a village in Holderness.
