Havana Rose Liu Latest To Join John Carney’s ‘Power Ballad’
deadline.comEXCLUSIVE: Havana Rose Liu (Bottoms) is the newest addition to the cast of Power Ballad, John Carney’s musical comedy for 30West and Likely Story, which stars Paul Rudd and Nick Jonas, as we were first to tell you.
Also starring Jack Reynor, Power Ballad is currently in production in Dublin. While plot details are being kept mostly under wraps, the film is described as an uplifting, music-driven story about a wedding singer, a rock star, and the song that comes between them.
Carney and Peter McDonald wrote the script. Producers include Anthony Bregman and Peter Cron for Likely Story, Robert Walpole and Rebecca O’Flanagan for Treasure Entertainment, and Carney, all of whom produced Carney’s most recent film, Flora and Son, for Apple TV+.
30West has fully financed the project and is handling domestic sales along with WME Independent and UTA Independent Film Group.
