Haunting photos show the ruins of an Ayrshire nightclub - and a hidden road - ahead of its demolition.Parkers in Kilmarnock was a popular night spot for locals across many years and even hosted gig nights for local and up-and-coming bands. The basement bar in the town centre is tucked under the multi-storey in the Foregate. The towering car park is set to be demolished early in 2023 after it was discovered concrete from the structure fell through the false ceiling of the Citizens' Advice Bureau premises and on to a desk.

Thankfully no-one was injured in the incident.Councillors Graham Boyd and James Adams were shown round the old night spot to survey the preparatory work ahead of the demolition.Jägermeister can be seen on the walls and a manky-looking soft drinks dispenser gun behind the bar are among the remnants of its former life.

A forlorn fruit machine also sits yards away from the black and white-checked dance floor.Councillor Boyd likened the club to a Cold War nuclear bunker following his visit.Incredibly, a void behind the nightclub has part of the cobbled East George Street with developers seemingly opting to build round it rather than ripping it up.Councillor Boyd said on Facebook: "This morning Cllr Adams and I were given a tour of the basement of the multi-storey to inspect the preparatory work for the forthcoming demolition."It was also a nostalgia trip, exploring the former Parker’s Nightclub.

The basement is a warren of passages & rooms, It seemed similar to a Cold War nuclear fallout shelter. "What’s really interesting is the remains of East George Street (last few photos).
