Harvey Weinstein is facing new charges. The 72-year-old disgraced Hollywood mogul has been indicted on new charges by a New York City grand jury, prosecutors announced Thursday (September 12), via NBC News.
The new indictment is under seal, so we don’t yet have specific details about the new charges. Judge Curtis Farber set a trial date for November 12. Keep reading to find out more… “We don’t know anything,” his lawyer, Arthur Aidala, said outside court after the hearing. “We don’t know what the exact accusations are, [what] the exact locations are, [what] the exact timing is.” Harvey is currently recovering from emergency heart heart surgery earlier this week, and could be arraigned as early as September 18, via the report.
More than 80 women have accused the ex-producer of sexual assault and/or harassment, which he has denied, insisting the encounters were consensual.
He was convicted in 2020 of third-degree rape of one woman and first-degree criminal sex act against another woman after a trial in New York, where he was sentenced to 23 years in prison.
