Harry Potter actor – who played Neville Longbottom in the magical franchise – claimed the airline took the action when he got to the gate late last week as he was flying from Orlando to Toronto, and he didn’t hold back as he put the company on notice in a series of tweets.‘Confirmed. @AirCanada is the worst airline in North America.

And that’s saying something,’ he wrote. ‘No email. No offer to rebook. Literally tore my first class ticket up in front of me at the gate, gave me economy ticket and walked away. ‘Not a single word.

I had to call her back to ask umm why? Lol. Privileged problems, sure. I think it’s a ludicrous policy that we’ve inexplicably normalised but it is what it is. ‘That said, that’s not my issue.. I wasn’t told til boarding, no apology, no ask if like to rebook, and if want a refund I have to call them.’He described the way people accept ‘overbooking flights’ as ‘a normal thing’ as ‘insane’, and he also rubbished a reply from a follow suggesting he was disappointed to be sitting with the ‘peasants’.Matthew – who was heading to Toronto for a Fan Expo to take photos and sign autographs for his fans – replied with a crying laughing emoji and added: ‘Nah fam, only saving grace was the nice family I was sitting next to.’In response to his string of tweets, Air Canada tweeted: ‘Hi Matthew, we regret hearing this.
