Rupert Grint has paid a moving tribute to his Harry Potter co-star Robbie Coltrane, following the news that the actor had sadly passed away at the age of 72.
The 32 year old, who played Ron Weasley in the wizarding universe, revealed how the Scotsman had been "looking out for us even decades later".
Rupert also emphasised how "warm, compassionate and hilarious" his former co-star was. Taking to Instagram, Rupert posted a photo of the late actor on set sat outside Hagrid's hut.
Captioning the post, he wrote: "Heartbroken to hear that Robbie is gone. I’ll never forget the smell of cigars and beard glue- a wonderful combination. "No one else on this planet could of played Hagrid, only Robbie." He continued: "Just as Hagrid was in the books and films Robbie was in life - warm, compassionate and hilarious. "A giant hearted man who was still looking out for us even decades later.
