The former Swindon Town forward was in Edinburgh for a medical today as talks with the Robins continued ahead of his expected switch, However, reports then emerged that negotiations had broken down over the fee, leaving Lee Johnson in a race against time to try and source an alternative option.
The Hibees het Christian Doidge join Kilmarnock on a season-long loan yesterday in the expectation that McKirdy would sign, only for things to go south.

The forward would then join up with fellow frontmen Elle Youan, Martin Boyle and Bojang Momodou ahead of Saturday's Premiership clash with Kilmarnock, which could see him make his debut.
