Harry Maguire will not ask to be taken out of the firing line despite his worrying drop in form. Manchester United captain Maguire has suffered a nightmare start to the season after being sent off for England and enduring disastrous home defeats to Tottenham and Crystal Palace at club level.

It has raised question marks over whether Maguire needs a rest to recharge both mentally and physically after a turbulent summer when he was convicted of assault in a Greek court and also had a disrupted pre-season as a result.

The turmoil looks to have affected his confidence and belief which has left him open to some serious doubts and criticism, including from United legend Roy Keane who said Maguire is struggling because his club team is “not full
