Harry Maguire and Daniel James were not seen at the Lowry Hotel as the Manchester United squad checked in ahead of Sunday’s Manchester derby.
The Red Devils welcome Manchester City to Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon having won 2-1 at the Etihad earlier this season.
Maguire and James both missed Thursday’s FA Cup win over Derby due to knocks though United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had appeared hopeful they could return to face City.
However the pair were not seen at the Lowry on Saturday with United heading to their usual pre-match hotel. There is some positive news for Solskjaer with Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who also missed the 3-0 win at Pride Park, included in the provisional squad.
