Harry Kane and England’s senior players held a team meeting to give the whole squad a warning on discipline. Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate spoke to the players after the latest own goal which saw Tammy Abraham, Ben Chilwell and Jason Sancho be forced to report up late for breaking coronavirus protocols.

But senior players were also asked to remind the whole group about the need to set standards particularly after Mason Greenwood and Phil Foden were sent home from Iceland in disgrace last month after being caught with girls in their rooms at the team hotel.

The latest incident is not being seen as serious as the trio were filmed at Abraham’s surprise 23rd birthday party with around 15 guests which breaks Government rules on a maximum
