Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were spotted making a public appearance just hours before Kate Middleton announced her shocking cancer diagnosis.

On Friday, 22 March, The Princess of Wales revealed she underwent major abdominal surgery in January. At the time, it was thought that the condition was non-cancerous, as no tests had confirmed the presence of cancer.

However, tests after the operation revealed "cancer had been present" and the Princess of Wales will now undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy.

Hours before her announcement, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex gave a speech at an exhibition about black art and history in Los Angeles.
