Harry and Meghan arrive in Colombia - as vice president admits she was 'deeply moved' by their story

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have begun their four day tour of Colombia by meeting the country’s vice president in capital city Bogota.

Vice President Francia Marquez is the first black woman to occupy the office, and she was pictured embracing Meghan and greeting the couple.

Meghan and Harry then enjoyed tea, coffee and a traditional Colombian cheese bread called pandebono with the vice president, before exchanging gifts to mark the start of their tour.

Before their arrival, Francia Marquez said in a statement that: “They will have the exceptional opportunity to engage with leaders, youth, and women who embody the aspirations and voices of Colombians committed to progress.
