Boss John Rankin hailed Ahkeem Rose after he became the first Hamilton Accies player to hit an away hat-trick in over a decade.The Ayr United loanee netted his treble in Saturday’s 5-0 demolition of Kelty Hearts in Fife, where Jake Davidson and Reghan Tumilty were also on target to end a run of four games without a win in League One.It is the first time an Accie has achieved the feat on the road since Stevie May scored all of their goals in a 3-0 win at Livingston in April 2013.Rose has scored five times since joining in January, with the Jamaican bagging a brace in a 3-2 defeat away to Falkirk last month, and he has received plenty of praise from Rankin.He said: “Ahkeem was the focal point for a lot of things on Saturday.“Having him through the middle where he can cause lots of problems for the opposition, we did really well.“He has scored our first away hat-trick since Stevie May so hopefully he can build on that.“He took his first goal really well, his second goal came from a set-play and he did well to react in the second phase of it, and his third goal was a really well worked move.“We knew what he was capable of when we brought him in during the January window.
His movement is good, he likes to play on the last defender and use his power and his pace - and he certainly did that on Saturday.
