Broadway shows are continuing to close for the night as New York City deals with air quality issues. According to Deadline, Hamilton and Camelot are the latest shows that will not put on a performance tonight (June 7). Keep reading to find out more… In a statement from a Hamilton spokesperson, they said that “the hazardous air quality in New York City has made it impossible for a number of our artists to perform this evening.
Shows will resume as scheduled tomorrow. We apologize for the inconvenience and encourage you to visit your point of purchase for refund or exchange.” In addition to Hamilton and Camelot, The Public Theater also canceled the dress rehearsal for Shakespeare in the Park’s outdoor production of Hamlet.
The preview performances set for Thursday and Friday, were also cancelled. The poor air quality is being caused by wildfires in Canada.
The cancellations comes just after Jodie Comer stopped a matinee performance for Prima Facie, and cited breathing difficulties.
