Hallmark Channel Denies 'Outrageous Allegations' About Lacey Chabert & Holly Robinson Peete in Age Discrimination Lawsuit

79-year-old casting director Penny Perry filed a lawsuit against Hallmark, alleging that she was fired by the network in April 2024 after being repeatedly told she was “too long in the tooth.” Perry claims that Hallmark exec told her, “We need to bring in someone who knows more young talent.
Our leading ladies are aging out.” She claims in the lawsuit that the network singled out Holly Robinson Peete, 60, and Lacey Chabert, 42, as being “old talent” who needed to be “replaced.” Hallmark has responded to the claims.
