Half of UK's worst areas for internet connection are in Scotland with Orkney named worst in Britain

Scotland has dominated a list of the top ten worst areas for internet connection in the UK, with the top four areas all being found north of the border.

The country topped the list with half the overall entries and the Orkney Islands were deemed as having the worst internet access in Scotland and the UK, according to new research.

The study by casino experts AskGamblers.com analysed new Ofcom data on download speeds and access to Superfast and Ultrafast broadband in the UK’s 376 local authorities, and created an index to discover which areas had the worst internet connection of all.
