Simone, who refers to herself at the GOAT (greatest of all time), was the US gymnastics team great hope for gold, but in a shock upset she has been pulled out of the team.
This comes after days of below-par performance from the 24-year-old, but her final score before bowing out was the lowest she has received in years.
The star gymnast made history this year when she became the first-ever female to perform the risky and complicated Yurchenko double pike vault with two-and-a-half-twists.
