The Cornish pasty wars could flare up again after claims Greggs is set to open a second store in Cornwall - after the first was forced to shut by outrage from locals.
The high street bakery has 1,500 UK stores, but none in Cornwall where pasty-loving locals call it “junk” and “Satan’s franchise”.
Greggs has been trying to invade the home of the Cornish Pasty for the years but so far they have failed to succeed. Last year, they opened a store in Saltash but it closed after just nine months following a lack of trade.
But now, according to local reports, Greggs are planning to open a second store - this time in Victoria, Cornwall - and the news has been met with ridicule from locals.
